A burst of jangly energy here, covering a song that functions as an inverse love song. That feeling of having your day darken simply by someone's existence making itself known.

I'm always fascinated by anti-romance in songs. The feeling of strong passion about someone, yearning even, but only negative passion. Repulsion is attraction seen through another lens, a spade is just a heart upside down (with a bit added).

My personal canon (that I'm fairly sure this song and its author wouldn't agree with) is that this song is a shout to the heavens. Not "why have you forsaken me" so much as "could you forsake me for a while, please?"
