February 14 - Going to Port Washington

OK, so the story behind this one is absolutely adorable. While ultimately this was available on the rarities album Ghana, this was initially released as part of The Wedding Record, a four track album that one of John's friends put out to announce his upcoming wedding.

And, fittingly, it's a bright delight of a song about love. Warm bass from Rachel Ware ushers along a song about driving through New York with someone you love and seeing the very silly name of a local bridge. It's insubstantial and beautiful in its insubstantiality. A moment and a joy, which is a perfect thing to mark a wedding and a perfect thing for February 14.

Moments of love can be perfect in and of themselves, like a kiss at a wedding or a shared memory at 4AM on a long long drive.
