April 12 - The Best Ever Death Metal Band In Denton
OK, so we've started to hit the songs that I can hear without listening to them.
There's something simple and wonderful about this song, which is a simple yarn about rebellion and friendship and passion and repression and Satan, and that would be enough for it to be a small delight, but there are lines in this that are stamped through me like the words of power on a golem's forehead.
When you punish somebody for dreaming their dream, don't expect them to thank or forgive you.
How is that not the best line you have heard in your life? How does that not reach inside you and find the teenager who was told to shut the fuck up by adults who didn't understand and weren't listening and who were just wrong all the time?
Big dreams in small towns. Plans to get even. The places we leave and never go back to.
Hail Satan
